Biographies and Events
Biographical and historic event entries are an important element of the
Detroit African American History Project. Representing people in a number
of fields and endeavors, these biographical entries speak to individual
accounts of the struggles, accomplishments and insights found throughout
the history of Detroit's African-American community. And while we are
featuring individuals on this page of the Web site, their stories will
reflect broader themes of the larger community.
These biographical entries of approximately 1000 words each include citations
that will enable our users to learn more about the subjects of these entries
and the various ties they have to the historical development of the Detroit
metropolitan community.
