Biography:

A woman of presence and ambition who sought to spiritually transform Detroit through her church and affiliations with radio statons for nearly forty years, Martha Jean "the Queen" Steinberg holds a unique place in the history of Detroit, particularly where it concerns what she referred to as "the forgotten people."

Martha Jean Jones began her radio career in Memphis, TN in 1954 on radio station WDIA after first working as a nurse in that city. This divorced mother of three relocated to Inkste
